Description

These Easy Loaded Nachos are the ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer for game day, parties, or casual get-togethers. Crispy tortilla chips layered with melted cheese and customizable toppings come together in just 20 minutes! They’re simple, shareable, and always a hit at the table.

Ingredients

Scale

For the nachos:

  • 1/4 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 standard size bag of tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican-blend cheese
  • 1/4 cup jalapeño, sliced into rounds

For the toppings:

  • 1 (12-oz) can nacho cheese sauce, heated up
  • 3 roma tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 avocado, mashed
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring often until translucent, 3 to 5 minutes. Add the ground beef and cook for about 5 minutes or until the beef is browned, using a spatula to break up the meat. Drain any fat.
  3. Add the salt, pepper, and taco seasoning to the ground beef and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the seasonings are incorporated and the meat is slightly crispy. Add water to the skillet and stir until combined.
  4. On the prepared baking sheet, add a layer of tortilla chips and top with the ground beef mixture, cheese, and jalapenos. Bake in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges of the chips are golden.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the nacho cheese sauce by heating it up in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Remove from the oven and add the nacho cheese sauce, diced tomatoes, onion, avocado, and sour cream. Top with the cilantro if desired and serve immediately.
