Description

These Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan French Fries are crispy, golden, loaded with flavor, and ready in half the time while using far less oil. Seasoned with pantry spices, air-fried to perfection, and finished with a drizzle of garlic butter, this easy, budget-friendly side dish is perfect for weeknight dinners, game day snacking, or any time a salty craving hits.

Ingredients

Scale

For the fries:

  • 1 pound russet potatoes, peeled and sliced into fries (about 1/4-in thick)
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the garlic butter:

  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic cloves, minced

For the finishing:

  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced potatoes in a large bowl of ice ice water and leave to soak for 15-20 minutes. Then drain the water, lay the fries on a sheet pan, and pat thoroughly dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large bowl, toss fries with olive oil, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 25 minutes. Arrange the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding. Air fry for 15 to 18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
  4. While the fries are in the air fryer, melt butter in a pan with minced garlic until bubbles form. Remove from heat and set aside until the fries are ready.
  5. Transfer the hot fries to a serving bowl or plate. Pour the garlic butter over the fries and toss gently to coat. Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan and chopped fresh parsley. Garnish with extra parsley and Parmesan if desired, and serve with ketchup or other preferred dipping sauce.
