Description

This budget-friendly homemade Coleslaw comes together in just 10 minutes with simple ingredients: shredded cabbage, carrots, and a creamy, tangy dressing. After a quick chill, it’s crisp, flavorful, and perfect for any BBQ or picnic. Once you make it from scratch, you’ll never reach for the store-bought tub again!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded red cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrot

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, granulated sugar, celery seed, and salt and black pepper to taste until fully incorporated.
  2. In a separate large bowl, toss together the cabbage and carrots. Pour the dressing on top and toss to coat. Season to taste with more salt and pepper if needed.
  3. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving for the cabbage to soften and the flavors to meld together.
